If I've bought them, then I don't do anything with them. If I've grown them, then I'll put them in a tub of water, give them a bit of a whirl, then drain them.
I would give all veggies a gentle rinse to remove dirt and discard the older steams. A more through wash then soak in clean water. Before cooking, another gentle rinse. Ahhh....that is why my water bill is so high ~
I wash all my fruit and vegetables in cold water and drain to dry. The only vegetable I don't wash is mushrooms. However I do peel them (I can do this relatively fast now and for me is quicker than wiping them clean with a cloth or paper towel.
Annalisa, by 'peeling' Mushrooms, you're getting rid of all the goodness! Why peel mushrooms?
Just rinse them under cold running water & shake dry, that's ALL they need!
I wash Vegitables rinse them in clean water 3 to 4 times. like cabbage and all i only outside i wash, it is very imp. wash the veggies properly. bcoz now a days everything is chamical world..i avoide outside food bcoz of this purpose.
